Security guard David Dunn pursues Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man with dissociative identity disorder who possesses superhuman abilities under the control of his most dangerous personality, "The Beast." Both men are captured and placed in a psychiatric facility with Elijah Price, a man with brittle bone disease who believes himself to be a supervillain and orchestrator of extraordinary events.
